Carlton have lost star young midfielder Patrick Cripps for the rest of the season after a freak knock during a smother resulted in him breaking his leg.
Cripps lent across to smother Melbourne’s Jayden Hunt in Sunday’s clash at the MCG, but Hunt’s foot connected with the back of his leg. Scans on Monday confirmed Cripps has a fractured fibula, an injury which will end his season.
The Blues may also lose veteran defender Simon White after he copped a knock to the knee, which he will have further scans on earlier this week,
Carton don’t believe the injury is to his anterior cruciate ligament, but even a less serious injury could see him out for 4-6 weeks.
Fremantle also had a bad week on the injury front as well, with Tom Sheridan injuring his hamstring in the win over North Melbourne. Read more…
